1. Who we are

Elcovest is a platform connecting entrepreneurs, investors and mentors. This page is maintained by Elcovest to explain how we handle personal data of users of elcovest.com (the "Service").

2. Data we collect

  • Account data: name, email, country, role, password hash.
  • Profile data you provide: bio, LinkedIn, website, expertise, ticket size, project information.
  • Communications: messages and contact requests you send through the platform.
  • Technical data: log data, IP, browser type and approximate location, used for security and abuse prevention.

3. How we use your data

  • Operate the Service, authenticate you, and personalize your dashboard.
  • Surface relevant projects, investors and mentors to other users.
  • Send transactional notifications (account, security, messages).
  • Detect, prevent and investigate fraud, abuse and policy violations.

4. Legal bases (GDPR)

We process personal data on the basis of (a) contract performance, (b) your consent for optional features, (c) our legitimate interest in operating a trustworthy marketplace, and (d) compliance with legal obligations.

5. Sharing

We share data with infrastructure providers (hosting, database, email delivery) bound by data-processing agreements. We do not sell personal data. Public profile fields you choose to fill (name, headline, country) are visible to other authenticated users by design.

6. Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active and for up to 12 months after deletion to satisfy legal and accounting obligations. You can request earlier deletion from Dashboard → Settings → Delete account.

7. Your rights

You may access, correct, export or delete your data, and object to or restrict certain processing. Contact privacy@elcovest.com to exercise these rights.

8. Security

We use industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, and row-level security on user data. No system is perfectly secure; report suspected vulnerabilities to security@elcovest.com.

9. Changes

We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app banner at least 14 days before they take effect.
